Georgeanne and William got married at the beautiful Trinity Church in Asbury Park, NJ. With its exposed beam and vaulted ceilings, it made for an incredibly unique setting. After the ceremony, the wedding headed over to a local hotel in Eatontown, where the guests made like Van Halen and ‘Danced the Night Away.’ I had such an amazing time capturing the many moments in this wedding. Thank you for allowing me to take part in your special day, Georgeanne and William!

I met up with Courtney and Clint in a park by the University of Vermont. They kicked off their shoes , hit the grassy field, and we got started. Watching Courtney and Clint interact with each other was such fun – they are very much in love and it really shines through in their photographs. Thanks Courtney and Clint, for such a wonderful afternoon. I can’t wait to shoot your wedding aboard The Spirit of Ethan Allen ship in October!

My latest shoot took me to Dreams Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This was Margaret and Joe’s second trip to the altar (bringing along their friends who couldn’t make their first wedding in California), but I never would have known that by watching them. Their love for each other was so abundant, and capturing it in one of the most beautiful places in the world was incredibly fun for me.
For our portrait session, we ventured into the little town down the street from the resort. Margaret was hesitant at first, this being her first time out of the country, but she was soon at ease as we explored the island locales. Nearing the end of our shoot, we took cover from the heat at a small covered bar, where the couple cooled off with some Dominican beers. The bartender played 80’s rock love ballads while giving the couple marriage advice!

On the day of the wedding, I spent time with Margaret and her bridesmaids Ashley and Stephanie as they prepared for the ceremony, and was able to capture many of the special moments they shared – including Margaret giving the girls handmade bracelets. And though that day began with a rainstorm, the weather for the ceremony was pure perfection. Margaret was walked down the aisle by her “Bridesman” Jacob, and after the beautiful ceremony the friends celebrated with specialty cocktails and cigars.

I must say this was one of my favorite weddings to shoot – not only because of how wonderful Margaret, Joe, and all of their friends were, but because the next morning on the beach my own boyfriend popped the question! I am now engaged myself and looking forward to my own adventures in wedding planning – brides, any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Today I took part in the Cancer Society’s annual walk for cancer “Bark For Life”. This is the third year I have been involved in this great cause. The walk gives people and dogs alike a way to raise awareness and money to help aid in the cure. Special guests this year included National Geographic Rescue Ink, an animal rescue turned reality television show, started by a group of tough-looking tattooed guys from Queens with big hearts for animals.
A big thank you goes out to all those who sponsored and donated to my team! If you’d like to contribute to the cause, please visit www.acsevents.org.

Here I am with my boys Murphy and Charlie

The dogs didn't know which bowl to drink from so they tried a little from each!

Everyone received a great swag bag filled with goodies from the walk's sponsors.

I have been wanting to volunteer for a while, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized I could use my skills as a photographer to help my community. I browsed google and found volunteermatch.org. After searching under photography, Harlem Link Charter School really stood out. The school was in need of some professional photographs to keep on hand for newsletters, an upcoming website, and other promotional efforts. Harlem Link is an independent public charter school founded by husband and wife duo Steven Evangelista and Megan Ryan. Both were teachers in Harlem and the South Bronx for over 10 years, and in seeing the demand for access to higher standards in academics, they decided to open a charter school.
Open for 5 years now, Harlem Link has a unique hands-on learning system that really seems to keep the kids’ interests peaked, though me being there with two cameras snapping photos must have certainly been distracting! It worked to my advantage though, because I got tons of great shots. Steven had told me that when I met the kids I’d fall in love…and now I see why. They were so welcoming, and full of curiosity about what I was doing. I had a wonderful time at Harlem Link and meeting all of the students and faculty.
At the end of the session I had 162 photographs. Steven later told me this was a lucky number because it is not only the number of students that enrolled in the school’s second year of opening but it is also the number of games in a baseball season. I thought that was pretty cool – two things I never would have known! I hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them, and please let me know what you think!

Hi everyone,
I’m happy to offer a great set of new features for my wedding packages, including revamped photo disc packaging, a gorgeous new sample album, and introducing guest sign-in books. What a fun and creative alternative to the stale store-brought variety!
It was such a nice evening outside that I grabbed all of the new goodies and headed out to the roof deck for an impromptu shoot. Take a look at them below.
P.S. A big thank you to Michelle Boutin of On A Personal Note for designing the lovely disc holder, seen in the photo below on the far right.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a very special addition to this world, Jordan Elena Blondin. She is the first born child of my very good friend Sara. Sara and I have been friends for about 22 years! I could not be happier for Sara and E.J. and I know Jordan will bring a lot of joy to their lives.

Though a warm beach day turned into a chilly evening, Megan and John were tough cookies! We starting shooting near sunset, for that beautiful golden light, and ended with some great streetlamp-lit black and white photographs. Megan and John are an adorable, funny couple, and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in July! Let me know what you think of their photos.

A new trend I am loving is personalized wedding websites. Its such a fun way to involve family and friends in your wedding process. I came across this great company called Nearly Weds while surfing the web one day. It has such beautiful modern designs and cool features that allow you to:
- Post photographs,
- Tell stories about how the two of you met,
- List wedding events,
- Post your wedding registry, List local accommodations for those out of town guests,
- …and even blog!
Guests can also RSVP on the site so you can manage your guest list. They are very reasonably priced as well. Don’t forget to post your engagement photos!

P.S. If you already have a wedding website or get one in the future I would love to see it! Feel free to post the link in the comments section or email me at info@gasparphotography.com.
