How to plan a wedding in Philadelphia

Congratulations on your engagement! Planning a wedding can be a daunting task, but with proper organization and a little bit of help, it can be a joyful and memorable experience. If you're planning a wedding in Philadelphia, here are some tips to help you get started.

  1. Set a budget: Before you start making any plans, it's important to set a budget for your wedding. Determine how much you can afford to spend and allocate your funds accordingly. This will help you make informed decisions about your venue, vendors, and other wedding expenses.

  2. Choose a venue: Philadelphia and the surrounding area has a wide range of wedding venues to choose from, including historic mansions, elegant hotels, and beautiful outdoor spaces. Consider the size of your guest list, your desired wedding style, and your budget when selecting a venue. I’ve photographed at some many great locations and I’m happy to help you with ideas.

  3. Find a wedding planner: You don’t always need one but hiring a wedding planner can take a lot of the stress out of planning a wedding. A good wedding planner will be able to help you with everything from finding vendors to coordinating the day-of details. Some favorites of mine are Musa Weddings, Courtney Space Events and Divas with the Details.

  4. Choose your vendors: In addition to a wedding planner, you'll need to find a photographer, florist, caterer, and other vendors to help make your wedding a success. Do your research and read reviews before making any decisions.

  5. Plan your guest list: Determine the size of your guest list and create a rough draft of who you would like to invite. Consider the cost per head, travel arrangements, and any other logistical considerations.

  6. Book your travel and accommodations: If you have out-of-town guests, you'll need to make arrangements for their travel and accommodations. Consider booking a block of hotel rooms for your guests and providing transportation to and from the wedding venue.

  7. Create a timeline: Once you have a rough plan in place, create a timeline of all the tasks that need to be completed leading up to the big day. This will help you stay organized and on track.

With these tips in mind, you'll be well on your way to planning a beautiful and memorable wedding in Philadelphia. Good luck and congratulations again on your engagement!
